How we handle your information
Last updated September 4, 2026
Most privacy pages are written so that nobody finishes them. This one is written the way the rest of this site is: a question, then a real answer.
What do you actually collect?
Whatever you hand over, and nothing that you do not. In practice that means a name, a number we can reach you on, sometimes an email, the address of the building with the problem, your account of what is wrong with it, and any photographs you attach. Ring rather than type and there is also a recording of the conversation plus a written version of it. Separately, the machine hosting these pages keeps the sort of access log every web server on earth keeps.
Why did a robot answer my call?
Because a tradesman up a ladder in a stairwell cannot pick up a phone, and a missed call is a homeowner who rings somebody else. An automated voice assistant fields calls to the number on this site. It is not pretending to be a person: it asks what happened, which property, and when you are free, then puts that in front of whoever prices the job. If you would rather explain it to a human, say so and one will call you back.
Is the call recorded?
Yes, and it is transcribed as well. Two reasons, both practical. A description of damage repeated second-hand loses the detail that decides the price, and the recording means it does not have to be repeated. And if there is later any argument about what was quoted against what was described, there is something to check rather than two memories. You can tell us to destroy the audio and we will, keeping only the written detail the job needs. Or avoid the question entirely and use the photo form, which captures only the fields you fill in.
What do you do with it?
Estimate the work. Book a date and find the building. Talk to you about your own repair. Keep a record of what was priced and what was carried out, because questions about a wall have a habit of arriving a year later. That is the whole list, and there is not a marketing use hiding at the end of it.
Does anybody else get to see it?
The person estimating and the person doing the work, necessarily. Then the suppliers underneath the plumbing of this business: the telephone provider, the company running the automated assistant, the form service that delivers what you type, and our email host. Each of them processes it on our instruction and has no licence to use it for anything of their own. It is never offered for sale, never rented, never handed to an advertiser or a lead broker. Compelled disclosure to a court is the only exception, and it has never come up.
Is this website tracking me?
Barely. There is one counter on these pages โ Cloudflare Web Analytics โ and what it records is that a page was opened and which site sent you. It sets no cookie, keeps nothing on your device and gives you no identifier, which means it can tell us a page was read forty times but not who read it. No advertising tags and no session identifiers. Nothing here trails you to the next site If anything more intrusive is ever added, this answer is edited before it goes live.
How long do you keep it?
Audio is discarded after about ninety days. The written material โ transcripts, estimates, notes from the job โ persists for a few years, because that is the honest horizon for a query about past work. Enquiries that never became a job are cleared annually. If you want your file removed sooner, ask, and it will be, provided nothing is unpaid or unresolved.
Am I going to get marketing texts?
No. There is no list to be added to and contacting us does not put you on one. Any message you get from us will be about your appointment or your wall.
How do I get you to delete everything?
Ask. Ring or email, tell us the number or the address you contacted us about so the right file can be found, and it is done. The same route works for finding out what we hold โ you will get told, not sent a form.
What about children?
The people who hire us own or look after buildings. Nothing on this site is aimed at a child, and no record belonging to anyone under the age of thirteen is knowingly kept here. Should one have reached us by accident, tell us and it is destroyed.
Will this page change?
When the practice behind it changes, yes, and the date at the top will move. Whatever is written here at the moment you read it is what is being done.
